Our Story

A story of love, tradition, and the heirloom that inspired Heer Saaj.

Where It All Began

Before our wedding in September 2023, we discovered the beautiful tradition of the Shagun Dupatta.

Traditionally chosen by the groom’s family, it is presented to the bride as a blessing for her new journey—a ceremonial heirloom carrying love, acceptance, and the good wishes of her new family. It is meant to be cherished for generations.

When we began searching for one, we expected to find a piece that truly reflected the significance of this tradition.

But we couldn’t.

The Search

The market was filled with bridal dupattas, yet we couldn’t find a ceremonial Shagun Dupatta crafted with the meaning this tradition deserved.

As we searched, another thought stayed with us.

While the tradition of the groom’s family gifting the Shagun Dupatta will always remain deeply special, today’s bride is also part of choosing the memories she will carry for a lifetime.

We wished she could also choose the heirloom she would preserve, cherish, and one day pass on.

So, We Created One

Instead of settling for what existed, we created the ceremonial Shagun Dupatta we had been searching for.

One that honours tradition, carries blessings, and is thoughtfully handcrafted to become part of a family’s story for generations to come.

That first creation became part of our own wedding.

Today, it is Heer Saaj.

And tomorrow, we hope it becomes part of yours.

The most beautiful stories are passed from one generation to the next.
